A table was added to the catalog table with only certain fields selected. I then added another database column from the same table to the same catalog table.

How do I update the catalog folder to pick up the newly added column?

Thanks

Unfortunately, there is no way in which you can add the newly added column to the folders. You will have to use "Generate" option from the folders option. Generate option allows you to generate a new folder based on either a report or a database table. But you will have to generate a folder for the entire table selected. You need not worry as it does not overwrite existing folder. It will create a new folder which will bring all the columns in the table (including the new column that you have added). Move the new column from the new folder to your original folder.

Best of luck

Not entirely true. You can generate a new folder via only selecting the desired columns from the table, and then cut and paste them from the created folder (it usually has a (2) on the end of the folder name) into the current folder. Then just delete the empty folder. This is the method I use most often when adding columns to an existing table in a catalog.

Thanks Griffindm
