Does anyone know, whether it is possible
to add new characters to a downloaded soft
font in PCL5?
Say, I have downloaded a soft font for a first
PCL job with a font ID 5 - a header and some
characters, which I need for this job;
after that, I download a new job, which
uses the same font, but has some other
characters. Is it possible to refer to the
same font ID (<Esc>*c5D) and then just add
a couple of new characters in a standard
way - not repeating header once again?
Thank you in advance for your help!

I'd say no. but i'd advise a technical reference manual
showing how to make fonts/characters

If you get a good tech ref. it will show you the format of
creating fonts.

I have an old tech ref. from the panasonic gxlaser (they no longer make laser printers i dont think) but it's a good one for pcl including fonts.
