I already have two harddrives installed in my pc and was wondering if i could add another one. I know physically there is enough space as it can fit into the spare floppy slot but as for connected it to the mother board i am not too sure. There are only two ide slots on my mother board, and both are used. Can you plug it in via the floppy drive connector?

No! only to an IDE connector.
So if all for are used? Primary Master/Slave and Secondary Master/Slave then either you take out one of your existing drives or you need to have more IDE connections.

The most popular way to add extra IDE devices is to fit a PCI to IDE host card, these can be picked up for around $35 and require a spare PCI slot.
Once fitted these cards give an extra two IDE channels, thats option for another four devices.

I found these as a n example: (doesn't need to be Raid)

IDE cables have two connectors on them. If yours don't, buy ssome that do. With two IDE slots you can have 4 drives. 2 as masters, 2 as slaves. The master disks should be connected to the terminal connectors on the IDE cables. Slaves to the middle connector. Disk jumpers must be set to Master & slave appropriately.

My IDE cables do have two connectors and i am using all four of them. I have ordered a PCI IDE connector card to use my new harddrive. Thanks for the info

you can add another harddrive to the secondary if you have a open connector on the ribbon example..seconday master
harddrive 3 samsung 80gb harddrive/master secondary slave/ hitachi DVD-arc80 .... now you have 3 harddrives
