Hi all,

I searched all threads for an answer but I didn't find one, so I'm hoping you can help me.

I have a catalog that's creaton on a DB2 database in an AS400 environment. Now I want to use this one on an Oracle RDBMS in an windows environment. At first I couldn't verify the tables, but after removing the Meta Level Schemas, this worked.

But still I can't add any tables or use Aliases.

Does anyone know if this can be resolved? Or is this a known problem (that I just don't know about?) ?

I'd check your table qualification levels as well. There may be something there that's mixing it up.

Can you pull data from the existing tables into a new report?

Hi Dave,

I checked the table qualification, and that didn't work neither. I can pull data from the tables, I can at least make my reports.

I can do everything you normally can do, but I can't add new tables and columns.
And this is what I need to do...
Thanks for the help btw...

Rachid,

Can you create a new test catalog from scratch to make sure that is working at least?

Dave,

Yes I can make a new catalog from scratch. Then everything works just fine.
But the catalog I have now just won't add tables.

I'm afraid it's not a helpful post, just empathatic.

I had exactly the same problem when changing a catalog over from a Progress DB to a SQL server one. Rather than start from scratch, I just keep copying the Progress one over and amend the Meta Schema so that it works.

Happy Friday,

Just an update,

I have redone the catalog from scratch....
Thanks for the advice anway....
