I have NeatReceipts loaded on my machine and had to do a re-install. It's size was about 100 MG. I did the remove with the Add & Remove Programs function in Windows XP and it was successful. When I did the re-install (about 159 MB) the size, as shown in the Add & Remove Programs page, went to 2,803.00 MB. The same thing happened to another program I wanted to delete. It would not delete so I did a re-install to get the uninstall files I needed. It still will not uninstall and it went to 1,505.00 MB. It's PrintMaster 12 by Broderbund. The dialog box comes up as if removing and starts at 0 percent complete, but never goes any further. I know you guys can tell me what is going on, so thanks in advance. Larry

See if some other program, perhaps malware or a security program is interfering with the uninstall.

Have a look at some of the third party uninstallers such as "Revo" that are on the market.

How does Add/Remove Programs get the size and other information?

Thanks, Ben, I did find 2 malware items in my registry. I sure appreciate the links.

Thanks, linney for the great links and information. It may take me a while to go through them and I will report back. Larry

And sometimes you have to do it manually by deleting everything the program installs and cleaning out the registry. Never pretty to do it that way but it is effective.
