Hi All,

Windows 2003/winxp with ie6/7

Problem, I want to add a trusted intranet site using gpo to everyones PC but I don't want to lock it down so they cannot add any other sites in the future.

Anyone know the best way to do this? I've looked everywhere and tested all but nothing seems to work. Pls say it's possible and not something else you can't do with gpo.

Thanks.

User Configuration -> Windows Settings -> Internet Explorer Maintenance -> Security -> Double click Security Zones and Content Ratings. Read the popup dialog box and click Cancel or Continue based on your setup. Select Import the current security zones and privacy settings then click Modify Settings, select Trusted Sites and click Sites button, add your sites to the zone and you are done. You could put it in the Intranet Zone as you stated but i put all trusted sites in the Trusted Sites Zone, just easier for me to keep track of if they are in one place.

There is a difference between Local Intranet and Trusted Sites if you're doing some authentication, such as with SharePoint.

Thanks RoadKi11 and 58Sniper. I do require tjhis to authenticate some sites so added it to the Intranet sites as sniper says. However, now when I try to show a report of the policy where I've added the ie settings it comes up with this error.

'An error occured whil generating report:
An Unknown error occurred while the HTML report was being created.

Any idea's? The policy is set from ie7 on the main dc and I'm pretty sure I have the correct ie7 adm files in the right place. As soon as I remove the browser trusted intranet sites it reports again so is defo to do with this.

Hope you can help yet again.
