add a text field to a form

Hey all
A really basic question for you

I am creating a form in word that will be locked once complete. I need 2 areras on teh form to be edittable by the user.
1) 2 check boxes
2) a text field

I have the check box working but can not get the text field to work.

Can anyone tell me how to add an editable text field to a locked form?

How are you locking the form?

If you are using formfields, and you protect the document for forms, and you can NOT enter text into the text formfield, then Fill-in enabled must be unchecked on the properties of that formfield.
