Hi, I have an old Compaq Deskpro K6-II 466MHz/312 MB RAM, running 98SE.

I understand 98 supports dual monitors and would like to add a second one. The 2X AGP video is integrated (SIS 530)and I believe it uses 10MB of shared RAM.

Do I add a PCI video card and try to have it co habitate with the integrated video, (probably not possible with Compaq bios), or do I need to get a new card with two outputs ?

, OR,..If anyone thinks dual monitors with my rig would be troublesome please advise, maybe it's time to update the hardware in general.

You should be able to plug in a second video card and monitor and have win98 manage them.

You may want to check MS site for Hardware compatibility list not all video cards worked together under Win98.

I did it but both cards were PCI.

2nd monitor added very easily. Added a PCI card. thx for the advice.
