I would like to add a new 4412d+ phone and would like to know the procedure for accomplishing this in WinSPM. I have never worked on an Avaya pbx. All my experience is on a Nortel Meridian 1. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Well, if you have a port not being used, all you have to do is determine what the extension is, and if you need to change it, and/or if you need to set up voice mail for it.
To determine the extension for a given port, connect a DISPLAY set to the vacant port, get dial tone from the Intercom and dial #00.
That will put it into programming mode and will display the extension number.
If it is a number you want to use, that is, if it "FITS" your dial plan, you are good to go.
Otherwise, you have to renumber it.
Get this far and let's see if you need anything else.
