Hello, I´m working with HP OPENVIEW 6.1, and I´ve a problem: My system (HPOV) has a unix mib loaded, but the snmp agent in other machine can´t answer. When I make one "start query" to unix mib from the SNMP Mib Browser, the HPOV answer "ERROR:SNMP:Variable does not exist or access is denied", the access is correct, I think that the snmp agent needs load the unix mib.

My question is: How can I load this mib into a snmp agent ?

Thanks

I'm not too sure if I understand your question fully, but you need to remember that when HP OV is loaded on to a platform, the EMANATE SNMP agent is also loaded on to the platform.

Does your other machine which you are trying to query also have the EMANATE agent loaded ?

It sounds as if you are querying a mib variable which is supported on your HP OV platform agent which is not supported on the other platform agent.

You can't load in new mib variables as such in to an snmp agent. The agent must be coded to support particular mibs variables when it is originally written by the programmer who created it.
