Hi,
I was just wondering if I can add a column in the open dialogue box. I am talking about the dialogue box you get when you log in to MS Project Professional and click on File Open.

The reason for that is: I wanted to sort the projects that appear in the dialogue box. Our company has a lot of projects. I wanted to sort by project managers/status.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

The Open dialog box is a standard Office open dialog box. You can do everything in Project that you do in Office (including sorting by clicking on the column title).

If you want to add a column then RightMouseButton on the column headers in the Open dialog and select the column you want to add.

PDQBach...thanks for you reply but I need to sort the list of projects shown in the dialogue box.

Do you mean the "Open from server" dialog box? If so then I can't help you at present since my PrjServer setup isn't available. Sorry. But, iirc, the "Open from server" dialog box is fixed and you can't add columns or sort on them ... but I've been wrong before.

Just checked ... you can't add a column but you can sort on Name, Version, Checked Out? Checked Out By and Last Modified.

Thanks for the info...I am trying to add a Project Outline code by which i can group projects and sort them.
