Hi all,
We have an Avaya CS1000 7.5, we use Avaya IP Deskphnes 1210 and 1220, but we want to test some cheap SIP phones for some users that doesn't need much features. I want to know what kind of license is needed for this, because I see there "SIP ACCESS PORTS", "THIRD PARTY SIP LINES" "SIP CTI TR87", so wich one do we need in order to connect SIP phones?

Thanks you in advance.
Best Regards,
Alberto Medina

How about the Aastra 33i IP sets? They closely resemble a Nortel phone, but are a fraction of the cost.....at least "list" cost for Avaya 1200 sets. Interesting that these phones are now MiVoice Mitel phones.....wonder how long it will be till they get rid of these "legacy" sets and replace them with Mitel "ribbed" handsets?

I believe you need the 3rd party sip line license as well as a signal server and node configured for sip line.

I have been working on adding SIP lines to our existing CS1000 ver. 7.6 for over a month. I was told by our Engineer rep that we only needed to add SIP line services and SIP gateway to our existing Node and set up routes, trunks, d-channels, VAS, AML, and so forth. I even went into NRS to create SIP endpoints for the phones. There is AVAYA literature with complete instructions to do it. You also have to have a SCPW set up and the SCPL in load 15 set. The SIP phones will not connect unless you have Station Control (SCPW) Password set up. It turns out that we have a database corruption that won't allow me to change my scpl away from 0. No password, no SIP phones. To answer the question though, you will need to purchase sip3 licenses. Supposedly you do not need an additional signalling server and node.
