add 2008 server in 2003 domain

i need to add a new server 2008 server to my 2003 domain but i don't want to upgrade to a 2008 domain yet, can i add 2008 server the same way i add a workstation witout causing any problems with my active directory ??

Yes you can as long as it isn't being used as a domain controller. If you choose to do so in the future then you will have a lot of planning to do.
