Hi
I am hoping someone has been through the same scenario.

I have a client who currently has a network with 1 w2k8 standard dc and needs a 2003 server added to the domain because of a programme that has not been approved on 2008.

What I would like to know,is it possible to add a 2003 standard server to the domain and promote it to dc? Do I need to run adprep on the 2003 server before running dcpromo?

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

You can't run ADPrep since the domain is already prepped for a newer schema.

I've never tried it, but in theory, I don't see a reason why it wouldn't work, assuming domain and forest levels aren't set to 2008 levels.
