Has anyone installed one of these kits?
Basically the 2410SA kit allows for the hot swapping of sata drives when installed in a system. The chassis itself occupies 3 5.1/4" bays and can accomodate 4 sata drives.

I looking for information on the physical installation of the chassis, will it fit both tower case and server case chassis?

Any info appreciated!

TIA

From my experience, it will depend upon the design of the drive bays in the case. Some drivebays have a flange each side for every single 5.25" tray. This means you can slide in say a CD-ROM drive and without immediately fixing it in place with screws, it won't "drop down" to the next bay below. Ditto a second and third drive etc. Without modifying the drivebays, this type of case is not going to be suitable for housing the drives you've described. You need a case where the bays are completely flat on their inside surfaces.

The other point worth making is that some of these hot swap chassis are quite deep. Make sure there is sufficient clearance between the rear connections and the motherboard.

Hope that helps.
