successfully. I am trying to run an AIT Sony backup tape drive attached to this card and Unixware is not recognizing either device. Any help would be appreciated.

Original UW 7.1.3 install or upgrade from UW 7.1.1?

Drivers for the 29160 card were not included in the UnixWare 7.1.1 media, and if you did an upgrade, they new drivers would not have been brought in unless you have first applied hba711a driver supplement:
ftp://ftp.sco.com/pub/drivers/UW711/storage/

That said, I assume you attempted to install the tape drive? During installation, what scsi adapter driver did you choose?

I am trying to install on a 7.1.3 new install. I am assuming that the driver for the 29160 is included in 7.1.3 as I am using a 2110 adapter for my disk drives and that was recognized without a problem.

Good. Yes, the 29160 adapter driver is included and certified from SCO with UnixWare 7.1.3

After the OS is installed, you need to install the tape drive seperately if it wasn't detected during the initial installation of the OS. Sometimes, if a device isn't needed for the installation of the OS, it is not detected and installed, therby leaving you to install it manually at a later time.

I am more versed in OpenServer, but the above concept I know to be true between the two. You will need to run the DCU to install the tape drive, perhaps someone with more knowledge could walk you through, or you may try these links:

Thanks. I have been told by Sony and SCO that once the scsi controller is recognized the system will then automatically recognize the tape drive as Sony and SCO do not have a driver for it !
