Hi,
my english is very bad, but I hope, that you can unterstand me. I'am try to install on a HP ML100 Server SCO 5.0.7. But I have a problem with the Adaptec 2610SA Raid Controller. I have installed the driver aacraid from the adaptec hompepage. The command I use was defbootstr link=aacraid. After loading the drivers the message was: installed successfull. But - on the next hardwarepage there was allways the message: ha=0 Type=usb_msto UDI SCSI HBA. No controller found. What's wrong? Where is my mistake? It was really super when you can help me.
thank you from germany

No. The driver on the CD was for a 2120 Controller. I have call the HP-Support, but there comes only the answer: Try the 2140/2180 driver and when it does not work pleace call us again. I'm am SCO Newcomer and do not know: Have I forgot anythink? Have I to do anythink else? Thank you for the answer and I hope you know what I mean with my confuses englisch. ;-)

defbootstr link=aacraid disable=usb_msto

earlier versions were "defbootstr ha=xxxx". Don't know if has changed or if the link does the equivalent.

Give the wrong symptoms, get the wrong solutions.

I just try it. Now the error messages usb_msto is not display. But the message: No boot controller.... is always on the monitor. The server has a second controller for the tape. Can that be a problem? The hardware show: adapter Type=ide ctl=primary dvr=wd.
Sorry - my questions show that my knowing ist very, very simple.

Have you tried to follow the support's advice with the 2140/2180 driver ?

Is there a bios setting for controller boot order?
not too familiar with the ml100's but the ml350's definitely have this bios setting.

Thank you for your message. There was hope for me? We have a Phoenix Bios. There was a passage with:
Parallel ATA - enabled
Serial ATA - enable
Native Mode Operation - auto
SATA Controller Mode Option - Compatible

and then I found only the Boot Devices:

Removeable Devices with *
CD ROM
Hard Drive wiht *
PXE IDA GE Slot OA08 v1219

It may be great, when you can give me a tip!!

Thank you!

ok ... since you got a "successful" installation then
sco's TA#126019 shouldn't apply but make sure you are using the latest WD driver anyways.

sco's TA#125886 talks about the aacraid driver and the controllers it supports. The 2610 is not listed, but the 2410 and the 2810 and the 21610 are. The 2810 and the 21610 are noted as only being supported as secondary controllers, not a boot device. This may also be the case with the 2610.

Hi Hoemmi1,
Try to down load driver from SCO web site.Sometimes they have newer drivers which can be downloaded. I am not sure of the URL but try I look through the documentation for openserver 6.0.
Adaptec 2610 is not mentioned.
HP is also using ML100 SCSI raid card, Product
No. 355671-B21 you can try using this.
Sincerely,
Hershey
