I have this AD64 (yes, old I know). Does it integrate with a hotel Property Management System somehow. The issue I'm facing is that we have guest rooms, and when a guest gets checked out in our PMS, the voicemail messages won't get erased from the mailbox, so the next guest that gets checked in to the same room, have access to the messages of the prior guest...

So the PMS has a serial connection to the SV8500, and the SV8500 has a serial connection (MCI) to the voicemail system. There is also a serial interface on the PMS configured for voicemail, but what do I do with that? Do I even need that, or should the SV8500 send some sort of check-out / reset message to the voicemail system?

I know there is a way to manually reset the voicemail box of any room, but I think this should be done automatically.

Anyone knows how to do that?

I have the Hospitality feature/license with my AD64. I do have those options listed in that manual. It's funny that I have 2 manuals that came with the system (an Install guide and a management guide), neither of them is what you have posted here. Yours have a lot more info. I have to get through this, but if anyone knows how to resolve my original post (now that we know I have the hospitality option), I'd appreciate help on that.

As I recall, there is an ASCII file called pms.ini in the root directory that gets re-written depending on what pms vendor you identify.

Did your install guide include this:

In order for the messaging system to work correctly with the phone
system, specify the phone system manufacturer and model.
Access the Voice Mail Control Panel to change the phone system at any
time. On the Voice Mail Control Panel, click Utilities, click Switch
Selector, then click Run Utility to change the phone system.
To select the phone system and PMS integration
1 On the NEAXMail AD-64 Voice Mail Control Panel Checklist page,
select Run Switch Selector.
2 In the Switch Selector window, from the Manufacturer list select
the phone system manufacturer.
3 From the Model list, select the phone system model, and if
applicable, the integration type.
4 If the system includes the Hospitality feature and will use a PMS
integration, select the PMS integration:
a Click PMS.
b In the PMS Integration dialog box, click Browse.
c In the Select PMS Integration File window, select the
appropriate PMS integration file, then click Open.
d Select the communication type used by the PMS system:
◆ If the PMS system uses serial communication, select
Enable Serial Communication. If necessary, make any
required changes to the settings in the Serial Comm
Settings area.
◆ If the PMS system uses IP communication, select Enable
IP Communication. In the IP Comm Settings area,
specify the Host Name or IP Address and Host Port.
e Click Update Comm, then click Save.
If the system does not include PMS, skip this step.
5 In the Switch Selector window, click Save.
NOTE
You must restart the computer before starting the
messaging software.

I re-read your OP and yes, PBX, PMS and VM are all linked.
Looks like a triangle if you draw it out.
You'll need to know what protocol the PMS is using as well as baud, parity, data bits, etc.

It's been a few years but IIRC, when all is working right, checking out a room should modify the mailbox number to a * plus the original number.

This is so a guest can call the front desk and retrieve messages even though they checked out.

Holler if you get bogged down & I'll try to blow some dust off & see what else I can remember.

The one thing I'm worried about is just 3 days ago, when I first wanted to work on this, I wanted to add a serial port to the computer, so it can be connected to the PMS. When I connected a serial-to-USB adapter to make this happen, the server froze up, and after a reboot, it took me about 8 hours to restart the voiceserver service.

After that, it did recognize the serial adapter as com3, so I'm good on that. But now going into what you described, it requires me to stop the service again. This time, the server can be stopped properly, not like 3 days ago, when the computer locked up and I had to -basically- hold the power button until it turned off. No proper service shut down, no proper windows shutdown.

Do you think this time, if the shutdown is done properly, it will come up faster.

The server itself is an overkill, it has 4G of RAM and only using 200Megs. It has a 74G HDD and only using 24Gigs. Plenty of extra space. 8-core CPU, all cores are running at around 2% utilisation.
Fresh install was done in June 2016. So it shouldn't have corruption issues or running out of space or power...
