I have just started as system admin and I m looking at printer configuration. I have only one win2003 server running as DC as well as print server. All printers are shared and checked for list in dirctory. When I go to AD user and computer console it does not list any printer objects. I read about it and found that I should view in user, computers in container mode. I did that but still printer objects are showing up. I can search all printers successfully if I use AD find object. First question I have is where the heck are these printers hiding at ? To solve this mystry I created an OU called printer and moved my printers in that OU. now I can see em in AD. is it the right way of doing it ? I am not so sure.

Open ADU&C
View - View as Containers

Then off you go to the printer server OU and expand the wee dohicky and bad a bing printers be seen...... errrr hopefully! :)
