Can someone give me some tips on when the best time is to switch over to native mode on AD? We currently have AD running in mixed mode with a trust to one NT domain. We just finished migrating our users from Exchange 5.5 over to Exchange 2000. Without sounding too stupid, can someone help with a few pro's/con's or steps I should take?

thanks,
Rich

Depends on what you want to do. If you want to keep the physical NT box, you could upgrade it to W2K. If not, you could demote it, and take it off of the network all together. Good luck.

Your first step is to get all your trusted/trusting domains on Windows 2000 or above. If you switch over to native mode with NT 4.0 domains, they won't be able to communicate with each other anymore.
Then the other step is to switch you AD to native mode with each server 2000. This is pretty simple and works well, only that you can't revert back later one without demoting your AD.
