And a very good article, Brian does a very good job of explaining things.

And it is a rather pathetic thing to sue freeware distributors and/or forums that discuss malware issues. There are no deep pockets here. iDownload, search, and all variants from this (multiple company) source are all crap.

Odd that the freeware MS Anticipate BETA (later this summer to be freeware final) was not sued for identifying and removing this mal.

Anything done to remove the purveyors of this invasion of my computer has my enthusiastic support.

And if necessary I would contribute to any legal defense fund.

I suspect it may have something to do with the fact that MS have deep enough pockets to more than crush the instigators of any legal action.

if a lot of "reputable" websites would stop allowing these spy/malware programs from "buying" space and being included in their privacy statements we would all be better off.

i don't mind advertisers but internet based cookies/spy-malware advertisers are like telemarketers, we don't click on their links (unles we want to) and they still insist on intruding into our PCs.

if you stopped visiting such sites and they noticed their "hits" going down maybe they would get the message.

on the other hand i hope the people these idiots are suing launch a counter-suit against them AND THE WEBISTES THAT HOST THEM!
