We're currently looking to upgrade our DCs to server 2008. We use the ADAM plugin on server 2003 to bind to AD on the DC. Does anyone know if we can continue to use ADAM on the 2003 server to bind to AD on the 2008 server? I know that ADAM is being replaced with AD LDS in 2008, so I wasn't sure if we could still use it.

If you intend to upgrade all of your DCs to Windows 2008, why would you want to use ADAM over AD LDS? I could see keeping ADAM if you were adding one 2008 DC, and I would expect it to work there.

Let me explain my situation a little more so that you're aware of how I'm going to use this.

We're currently running ADAM on a regular 2003 server (not a DC). We're upgrading all of our DCs to 2008, but keeping the other servers at 2003. We run a program that incorporates ADAM on one of the 2003 servers. The vendor of that program doesn't support 2008 or AD LDS yet. So I basically need to know if I can still use ADAM on a 2003 standard server to bind to AD objects on a 2008 DC.

I hope that clarifies things a little more.
