Ad-hoc network models

I was applying for a position that I seemed mostly suitable for (Basic support) the only thing was I’m not sure what they mean when they talk about creating Ad-hoc network models.
Are they meaning creating a specific test network for a certain situation? Any input appreciated.

 
ad hoc is Latin, meaning "for this" or "for this purpose only" and usually implies something temporary, such as ad-hoc reports.
