AD-Exchange replication issues

Hello-
I'm having a very peculiar issue with our Exchange 2003 and AD.

Whenever I create a user account in our AD, for some reason the mailbox does not show up under "system manager". I can not see if the mailbox was created or not. I get no error messages while creating the user account.

Can anyone point me to the right direction here? I'm a bit lost.
