AD/Exchange 2000 --> 2003 upgrade

I am planning a Windows 2000 AD with Exchange 2000 side by side migration to Windows 2003 AD with Exchange 2003.

I was reading the MS Q314649 article regarding "Windows Server 2003 adprep /forestprep Command Causes Mangled Attributes ".

It's a little confusing to read, but if I'm reading it correctly, I need to run Exchange 2003 setup /forestprep and /domainprep BEFORE I run 2003 ADprep /forestprep and /domainprep, and I should be OK regarding the issue at hand. Am I understanding this correctly?

yes. run the .ldf script, then upgrade for Exchange & Windows.
