This is driving me mad!
We want to put ISA on our 2k server that currently has DHCP and DNS on it, before I install ISA I setup a dial-up internet connection which ISA will use to our ISP. Internet explorer refuses to see any web sites at all, it will try to connect the comes back with "cannot find server or DNS error". You can ping the host name of any web server and ipconfig shows that it picks up the DHCP address from our ISP. I am not up to speed on 2k DNS and it was just set up when I ran DCpromo and set to the companies domain name, server is 2kserver.companyname.co.uk

I have got know where with technet, any ideas??

What do you get when you go to a dos prompt and type route print? Glen A. Johnson

destination netmask GW interface
0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 modem gw modem
server ip 4x 255 lan ip nic

3 entries for gateways and router on the isp lan pointing to modem

but get

224.0.0.0 twice one entry with gw of local lan and one with gw of modem
The default gateway at the bottom is the one of the isp/dun connection, all have a metric of 1

I have just tried the same setup on another server in a test AD / domain and get the same errors, I think my dns is incorrectly configured?

When you set up DNS through DCPromo did you later delete the "." zone and set up forwarders to your ISP DNS server. This could be the cause of your DNS errors.
