Hi,
I recently downloaded and installed the latest Ad-Aware (SE Personal, Build 1.05), and made sure I had all the latest updates for it. I am running Win XP Pro (SP2).
When performing a basic "smart scan", it seems to be going just fine, until it hits 39261 objects, during a "local registry scan" of:
"software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\uninstall"
Is there a way to enable a step-by-step log file so I can see at what stage it hangs? By default, it only seems to write the log file once the scan has actually finished.
It's not a serious lock-up, as I can still move the window, click cancel, and the window refreshes just fine... It just doesn't get past this point, even after leaving it for 15+ mins.
To make matters more annoying, even if I disable all of the "memory & registry" scan options, Ad-Aware still performs the "local registry scan".
Unfortunately, the LavaSoft support forums are down, so I cannot ask this question there. Can anyone here shed any light on this?
Thanks,
Dan
