I have a setup with 13 Sites. All sites have DCs locally, but there is only 1 domain. I have all the subnets setup in AD Sites and Services. Most everything is working fine. My problem is that I have a handful of computers at numerous sites that refuse to authenticate to the locat DC. They keep coming all the way across the WAN to the DC with all the master records. Does anyone know how to stop this?

Make one dc in each site dns server and point it to itself for name resolution. When the client want to autenticate it goes searching for srv records of a dc in dns. The client does so by querying the DNS server for an SRV record. If he needs to go outsite his own network before it gets to a dns server it wil also authenticate there.
