Hi,
System is CE10 using AD authentication running on clustered W2K Advanced servers.

Does the AD authentication 'piece' poll the system for updates? I have noticed that when users change their password I have to manually refresh the AD authentication for them..Am I just being impatient? Wlll CE synchronise itself witht the 'current' AD info if I wait long enough..Is the wait period configurable?

I will check with our AD administrator to see if it can be controlled by AD itself ( pushed, rather than being pulled)

Thanks..

From my experience, you have to manually perform an UPDATE on the Windows AD authentication tab. There is probably a way to create an automated script to do this, but I have not went down that path yet...

You are just impatient - we have over 3000+ users who have to change passwords every 2 weeks - CE picks up the changes from WIN AD periodically - I find within 30 minutes usually...

Hi,
Well, 2 contradictory answers..
( I love computers, heck- given some of the stuff I've seen happen, they could both be correct!)[smile]..

Actually paulmarr , it is my users who are impatient ( aren't they all?) - their password changes take effect immediately but they then cannot run their reports until I( or, if you are correct, CE) update the CE system info.

I'll try having the next user whose PW gets changed wait for 1 hour to test it in our setup.

Thanks for the responses...
