Compliments of the Season to All

AcWinIP-V3 won't connect getting a SoftOla error that the sound settings has not been configured however the following has been done

1. Swopped Handset
2. Moved Handset to another USB port
3. Checked sound settings in Control Panel
4. Reinstalled AcWin software
5. Tried another copy of the AcWin software
6. The PC did however install Windows-10 Updates

All the above you still get the SoftOla error indicating that the sound settings are not configured in AcWin Configuration yet it is configured.

The usual problem with this is that moving the usb handset to a different port assigns a different audio id, and you have to set the audio devices in AC-Win Configure. It’s ok to choose a different usb port, but then you have to go into AC-Win Configure and choose the three devices again. Then start AC-Win again. Did you do that ?

Yes I did that and it shows in Ac-Win Config that the handset is there but when you restart AcWin again you get the SoftOla error message indicating that the handset is not set in Ac-Win Config

Could it be logon rights/policy? Is it actually making the change? Have you logged on as administrator?

Yes I have logged on as administrator
Yes the changes are reflected in AcWin Config

In that case, I don't know. Never had that issue. It has always set the audio stuff correctly for me. There was something in Win 10 for allowing apps to use the microphone, under privacy, microphone, but likely is set right already. Latest AC-Win SL is R2.1.1 but I never had this issue on any version.

This may be obvious and I'm not sure if this is a new install but here goes anyway.

The SL (Stackless) version will only work on an STMIX card or on a Virtual (vSTMI) card.
If using an STMI card then you have to use the NON SL Version.

Does that give a softola error though? I didn’t think it did.

Maybe not - I'm not sure
but just to check to make sure
as the OP did not specify if
a new install or not.

Maybe I didn't mention it above but it is a STMIX and Acwin-SL V3 and it was a working AcWin then the SoftOla error started and I did a reinstall same issue even with another copy of AcWin-SL

The Kool Guy

sbcsu, it gives the error "This telephony system is not supported for AC-Win SL V3!" if you try it on an older STMI.

Koolcom, this sounds like something up with Windows to me. I'd get hold of another PC or reinstall Windows. Prove it works. Then see if it stops once you apply policy/updates.

Will give it a try but only next week need to liaise with IT Department not our PC's
Will update with findings but thanks for the input so far

The Kool Guy

Had a similar issue just recently: Check windows "Start > Settings > Privacy > Microphone". SoftOLA needs to be within the permitted apps (at the bottom).

wev'e tried that microphone setting in windows no luck we have asked the IT-Dept to trinstall Windows for us then we will install AcWin/DsWin again

Thanks for all the input guys
