I have Version 4 of Vision on my system which is being used on many sites and working fine. On one site I've found that when I copy the two portions of a file (e.g. PYNT and PYNT.vix) from the backup folder to the live folder the system seems to 'forget' that this is a vision file and returns file status 39. When I check the file with VUTIL it says the file is of incorrect type. Has anyone any experience of this?

Thanks

Tony

Tony,

Are you sure that the copying utility is a binary copy? (For example, if FTP is involved in the copying, it might be in 'A' mode.) Are the resulting file sizes identical to the originals?

Tom,
I'm just using Windows copy and paste to restore the files. DOS XCopy is used to create the backed up files in the first place.
