Here's the background:
-At the beginning of the year we transitioned from an HP-UX 10.20 and 11.0 system to an AIX 5.2 system. We are also running AcuCOBOL 6.0
-Most of our files are vision version 3 files, until they get close to 2 gig, then they are rebuilt to vision version 4 files which starts an index of the file and creates a new file with extensions at 2 gig intervals.
-When the files were transitioned over, they were all rebuilt on the new system. Since then, only one vision 3 file has had to be rebuilt to be a vision 4 file.
Here's the problem:
-One of the existing vision 4 files is breaking when it creates a new extension file.
-As far as I know, none of the other vision 4 files appears to have expanded to a new extension file since the transition.
We will be working with IBM and AcuCORP to resolve this issue, but AcuCORP is off for the hoilday. We also have a short term workaround, but need to resolve this ASAP.
