I was wondering if any one has had any success using the --javaclass compiler option that is available with ACUCOBOL ver 7.2. We are trying to move to a SOA setup, using ENTRY points and calling our COBOL programs directly from Java. Any insights, tip/tricks etc...would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Oh wow. That's one of our intentions where I work too. We've been playing around with integrating the ServiceMix JBI implementation to our main product written in AcuCOBOL. I try and stay on the Java side of this effort [smile], so I'll see if one of my more COBOL-oriented collegues can offer any insights ...

Thanks, That would be greatly appreciated. It seems to me this is sort of a new frontier.

Ah sorry mate. I've had a chat with our COBOL guru, and we've been trying to use the pre 7.2 COBOL / Java integration which was pretty dodgy. We've got a plan to look at the new stuff, but other things are higher in the prioroty stack at present.

I hope you get it sorted though. If you get any findings, maybe you could post them back here. We would be very interested [bigsmile].
