Just installed windows 2000 server on a new Proliant ML3300 then connected a tape drive model 5686 on the SCSi controller (Adapte 26910, which also supports 2 70 G scsi hard drives. The device manager shows that all of the devices are working properly but the array configuration utility did not detect any supported array controller. Any help will be appreciated? Thank you

tape drive should never go on the same controller as the drives
for performance you want to seperate them

aside from performance...
A tape unit connected to drive channels is a great method of corrupting data

I removed the tape drive from the SCSI controller so that only the 2 hard drives are connected, but when I ran ACU - it still says that it could not detect any supported array controller.
Other suggestions please.

I presume you mean the Adaptec 29160 SCSI card? This is not an array controller so the ACU will not see it.
