What is the setting for the job log (under Options of the backup job)?
1. Run CSTOP
2. Rename the log folder under the Brightstor folder, i.e log_old.
3. Run CSTART
4. Open Arcserve manager and you should see a couple of entries in the Activity Log now.
NOTE! The previous logs will be lost.

be sure to close the manager prior to running cstart. The old logs will not be lost since the old LOG directory is just renamed and not deleted, but they will not show up in the ARCserve Manager.
