ActiveX Viewer XI with 8.5 Reports? 1

Is it possible to open Crystal Reports made in 8.5 with the newest viewer bundled with XI.

If so, are there any compromises that have to be made. I know it is possible to upgrade to Viewer 10, with minor flaws in SQL UNIONS, but if we upgrade we want to go to XI. I can't find any info on it. I don't even know if the Viewer is even newer with XI, or if they just added stuff I won't use to it like the DHTML bit. I'll be using the ActiveX control most likely to integrate them into html pages driven by javascript. The DB is MSDE 1.0 SP4.

Any ideas??

Hi,
The ActiveX viewer in XI seems to work fine on reports that were designed in CR8.5 ( altho' we had them published in 10 and imported them to XI ) -

More importantly, there is now a new way to invoke the ActiveX viewer - the old viewrpt.cwr is no longer supported, but replacements are included:viewrpt.asp and viewrpt.aspx.
