Hi all,

On one of my reports being distributed through InfoView using Crystal Reports Server 11, hangs and never prints when a regular user tries to print the report. I am unable to find any reference to this problem in the documentation, the CR Knowledge Base or in these forums.

Relevant Facts:
--There are other reports in InfoView that the users can print with no problems via the ActiveX viewer.
--This seems to be a permissions issue, in as much as that if I login to the same PC with admin priveleges the report prints properly.
--This report sources from a different DB than reports that do print. This report runs off of an MDB that is not locked and the users have RWMD access to. The report can be viewed and refreshed w/o problem.
--Users do not have local admin priveleges on their machines. Not sure how this effects the ActiveX viewer.
--The only similar reference I found to this problem directed me to change the print server settings to wait until jobs finish spooling before printing. I did this to no effect.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks,
AJ

Quick addition:

--One of the users with this problem does, in fact, have Local Admin priveleges on her machine. So if this is a permissions issue, it is probably a network issue.

Thanks,
AJ

Hi,
This part of your posting:
This report runs off of an MDB that is not locked and the users have RWMD access to.

Seems to indicate a permissions issue ( remember, it is not the user that needs permission, it is the Pageserver's ( and perhaps others) account that has to have rights to both the data and the file system location)

Thanks for the response Turkbear,

My Page Server and Job Server are both running with Domain Admin level accounts. All of the other servers are running as LocalSystem. I am weary to change that as CR documentation says that some must run as LocalSystem.

Do you know which server (if any) generates and spools the print output? Or does the ActiveX viewer do all of that itself once the data has been received from the server. Remember, in my situation, they have full access to view and refresh the data.

Thanks again.
AJ

Hi,
The cache server may need to be running under the Admin account as well, but that would not explain why, from the same InfoView page, you can view/print it and others cannot..
