ActiveX Spelling Checker in Access Runtime?

I just tested my Access XP runtime on a "virgin" PC with no Office installed. The spell checker does not function. Yet in Runtime simulation (/runtime) the checer DOES work. Is there a reference to the spell check that I am missing or is this a MS clitch?

It is a good thing I tested on a clean PC or never wuld have caught this problem in the runtime simulation.
