hello guys,

i was referred here from the javascript forum. they suggested that i should make an activex component for image enhancement. our web application is an image viewer where you can zoom images. the problem arises when the images are zoomed out(scaled down) because the image quality decreases... our image is no longer readable..

have you guys encountered this? pls do help me. our system uses javascript, php and runs only in internet explorer. i need a client side solution...

pls help...

thanks a lot

I do not think there is a all-round good solution to this, if any at all.
In any case, I think it will depend on the quality of the original image, and its original size, as to how soon the quality decreases when zoomed.

i used msInterpolationMode = 'bicubic' in ei7 and was amazed that the scaled down image still has a good quality. i am really wondering how they did this. our original image is around 4000*3000 and when decreased to 10%, the quality is still good. our lowest zoom out is only 10%.

is there a directX control which does the same as msInterpolationMode = 'bicubic'?

thanks a lot.
