I have an ActiveX control that performs certain communication functions; at the end of this process I would like to close the underlying Access form (this form just prompts the user to start the process).
How can I programatically sense that the ActiveX is finished so I can fire a form/close?

get the activeX control to return a value when completed

I have a similar control , however I use it with an .ASP page , the control simply returns a BOOL when completed

this notifies me to move on ... or in your case close

should work , hope this helps

If I was the author of the ActiveX that would be an option, but I am not, and I do not have source code for it. It does call a comm program that displays a window (which closes automatically when the comm program finishes), so if I can sense the closure of the comm program through some API I could then close my window.
