Folks,

For some strange reason the ActiveSync and AutoDiscover directories are not working correctly. It was working fine until recently. Below is a copy of the error. I have searched all over MS Technet's sites and tried updating the .NET package to 4.0, uninstalling and re-installing CAS roles. OWA works perfectly fine.

Any exchange gurus have tips or suggestions???

The guy that post about PSS solving his issue. also, others are stating that installing.net 3.5 sp1 fixed it. Also, others are saying install the latest rollup pack, but I do not believe that is your issue. I like the PSS solution of your Website/autodiscover/activesync may be looking at the wrong directory.

What version of Exchange are you running and what service pack level?

Hello,

Yeah - I saw that post some time ago and verified the directories. Very strange error.

Exchange 2007 SP3

Got any more tips?

You said it worked until recently....what changed? Where there updates installed? A third party application? Anti-Virus software that may have blocked some of the assembly files?

Is the following file present?
C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\Owa\Bin
Microsoft.Exchange.Clients.Owa.dll

I believe after updating the IIS to 7 is when these problems began to occur. I did not update anything else at the time, and AVG Business for Exchange has always been running.

And yes, that file does exist within that directory to stated. 1.93MB file.

Check the auth on the owa, activesync and ews sub directories.

Usually someone has turned off anon or turned on ssl on the default web site.

Ah ha! I copied the Microsoft.Exchange.Clients.Owa.dll file into the Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\sync\Bin directory, restarted IIS and BOOM it worked!

I was looking in the ClientAccess folder and NOT the sync folder previously... anyway, thanks guru's for your support and suggestions!
