I have set the default viewer for CE10 to be active X, but when the viewer loads I do not think its the active X viewer, is there any way to clarify what the active x viewer looks like.

If something loads, then it's probably the Active X if you've selected it.

The Active X will pop in a different window and have a Windows type of appearance as opposed to a browser.

The DHTML viewer has the standard WEB buttons, which the Active X does not.

Can you change your browser security?
Set "Run ActiveX Controls and Plug-Ins" to Prompt

I had a problem with an IE update (Q832894) on XP. It caused weird "sometimes you get it sometimes not" active X viewer problems along with some other flaky problems. The current IE update fixes it (Q831167)

I am currently using windows 2000 server and trying to use the active x viewer on the server. I have set the viewer to activex on the preferences window, and set all options to enabled on the machine for activex download.

This install is an upgrade from CE8, the viewer worked on CE8, but the current viewer looks like something from the 80's.

The button I can see in order from left to right are:

Group Tree, Export, Refresh, Print, Main Report, Goto 1st page, previous page, next page and last page, enter page number, search, zoom. Is there anyway like in CE8 that you can force the viewer to use activex control

This is the DHTML viewer. (You can right click on it and View Source).

Make sure in ePortfolio (not CMC) you go to Preferences > Crystal Report Preferences > "View my reports using the ..." ActiveX viewer radio button > Click the Apply in the top menu (inconsistent UI).

Also the DHTML view menu bar are just regular images, so if you did want DHTML you can simply change the images to something more attractive.

Please describe in more detail what you did to "set the default viewer ... to be active X." Also describe how the reports are being generated and viewed. There may be some mismatch that isn't being seen. (I'm thinking, for instance, of the setting being changed for the CMC, but reports being run "unmanaged." But I'm not familiar with the CE10 environment.)

I have managed to change this by amending the rptviewer.csp file. By changing the GetViewer function and setting the viewer to 0 I can now view the reports via ActiveX.

Thanks for all your input
