what version of windows mobile are you using? if it is windows mobile 5 or 6 are you using the push email? If not then your activesync is set to check your mailboxes every so often so when you change the status of a message or delete it doesnt update your exchange account until after it re-syncs with exchange.

in active sync on the mobile device go to menu - schedule, and then change the the peak times and off-peak times settings to "as items arrive" which switches the phone to push email. the phone needs to have the latest device updates, and exchange server should be up-to date.

also in esm (exchange system manager) under global settings right click mobile settings and go to properties and ensure all 4 boxes under activesync are checked.

I did all of the above.
If I delete from the inbox and sync. Then my my email are deleted from the device but if I delete from the device and sync, the emails are still in the inbox.
