Hello
I had a situation where a user display name had to be changed so that it would list as need in OL address book. However, after making the change, ADUC still listed the user object with the original spelling.
Searching around, I found that the "canonical name" was still unchanged. Now, I read about how to make that change but, why does the canonical name exist at all?
what does AD do with it?
I just need to be clear on this so that I can make the change without reservations

thx all
