I have two DCs recently upgraded to W2k. My website is XXXX.com and it is hosted externally.
My question is: should I name my internal domain XXXX.com or local.XXXX.com (for example)?
I understand how to resolve externally using forwarders, my query is centred around how naming will affect email addresses when I migrate to Exchange 2k. Currently all addresses take the form john.smith@XXXX.com and I would obviously want to retain this internally as well as externally.
I understand that there are security implications in sharing an internal and external namespace.

Any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Ok your internal name should be XXXX.local and your DMZ is xxxx.com. It will not affect when you migrate to Exchange 2k, that's just a matter of config.

I think you take a peek to GIA's site, you'll know what you gonna do afterwards
