Active directory setup

new to active directory, after running dcpromo, it needs the fully qualified domain name
My server name is DC01 the internal domain name is xyz
the external domain name is uxyz.com
what would be the correct way of doing this
This is how I intalled active directory, I did not get any errors, I just want to make sure
xyz.uxyz.com
When I right click on my computer and look at the identification tab I see dc01.xyz.uzyz.com
Is this correct
