I am constantly being asked to change passwords, and sometimes I waste alot of time just walking to and from the server room. I want to create a Management Console that has Active Directory in it so I can log on to a local workstation and change the passwords. I have looked in the Management Console snap-ins and I can only administer the Local Users and Groups as the Active Directory Services snap-in is not displayed. How can I get Active Directory Services into a Management Console - or am I going about this the wrong way??

Here is the easy way. Install adminpak.msi from the windows 2000 server cd. I think it is in the I386 folder. That is if you are running 2000 on your desktop as well. If you are using XP on your desktop download the adminpak for XP from Microsoft. When you do that you will be able to manage all things related to your network from your desktop. Just remember, if your user account doesn't have the rights necessary, do a right click on the tool you want to use and click run as. The use the admin username and password.
