Well, I just got finished with a school on Server 2003 and I feel better about it but have a question. We originally had a volume license agreement that has expired. We've since replaced the servers and have the Server 2003 licenses paid for.
I've looked over the volume license paperwork but it's very confusing. Does anyone know if I now now have purchase licenses for the Active Directory seats? Do they even charge per seat?
I'm reluctant to go to M$ only to find out that we're guilty of not being in compliance.
Thanks for any help.

The license comes with 5 seats. Anything more is purchased from MS and the have brackets (ie:5-6, 7-8) from which to purchase. Contact your neighorhood dealer for more details.

Regards,
David.

Well, I got my answer. Looks like we never purchased the CALs in the first place but once purchased they are permanent. The only thing that needs to be renewed is the maintenance allowing us to get version upgrades in the future. Now we just have to buy a bunch of CALs....
