I am wondering if I should use the AD replication to speed up logins at a remote location. I have a W2K3 standard edition at the satellite location. any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I would place a DC at each remote site and assign it to be a Global Catalog server. It also would not hurt to have a dns server at each remote site. Then you could setup Active Directory DNS zones which would automatically replication within AD replication.
