I hope this is the right place to ask this. I don't know a lot about Active Directory, but assuming my IT isn't being stupid in some way will the Exchange Server name always be in the Active Directory attributes of homemta, homemdb, or msexchhomeservername? From what I've read the msexchhomeservername is actually created from either homemta or homemdb if blank as all 3 are required by AD. If I needed a reliable way to find out the Exchange Server name from the Active Directory which is the more likely to be always correct?

msExchHomeServerName should be accurate but only if you have one exchange server. This could change if the user account is located on another backend Exchange server.

Thanks. I'll go with that for now. Hopefully they will not change the physical setup of the servers. I assume they keep changing the domain for security purposes.
